Dear Educator,

The Fresno County Farm Bureau, Fresno County Office of Education, University of California Cooperative Extension, and Big Fresno Fair have scheduled the fifth annual Fresno County Farm and Nutrition Day for third graders on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 9:30 am to 1 pm at the Fresno Fairgrounds.

This special day highlights Fresno County agriculture with presenters demonstrating how food produced locally is important for proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. Students will have the opportunity to interact with more than 50 presenters and booths, see a wide variety of animals, displays and equipment, and enjoy goodies from our tasting center. This is your invitation to join us and participate!

Participation is limited to the first 100 classes with teachers completing the online registration. Register early—Don’t miss out on the excitement!

Larry Powell, Superintendent of the Fresno County Office of Education, supports Farm and Nutrition Day as an important hands-on, interactive school activity. Effort is made to incorporate event materials into the state teaching standards and with a little creativity, cover the subjects of science, social studies, math and English.

Confirm we received your registration (teachers should receive a confirmation that we received their registration within three (3) business days; it will come via the email you listed)
Secure your own transportation (if you have problems securing transportation, please contact us)
Request financial assistance for transportation (if needed)
Check your email for information regarding the event (Email will be the primary mode of communication; some information will be posted here on the website but will still all be sent via email)
